A redesign potion is best used when you want to keep all of the stats and EXP of a lupinus. We highly suggest getting an MYO if you just want a different design and don't care about conserving the stats and EXP of your chosen lupinus.
Redesign Rules and How-to
Failure to follow the redesign rules will result in your design being reverted back to the original version and you being given a soft warning.
RULES of Redesign
- Redesigns must be checked and approved in the #myo-wips-and-help channel in the WOS Discord Server before you submit to site. You are more than welcome to start concepting or even finish a redesign before you have purchased/crafted a redesign potion, but you will not be allowed to use that version of your character until the redesign claim has been submitted and approved.
- Major redesigns may only be done on personal MYOs and designs whose designers approve of major redesigns.
- We will check TOS and personally ask the designer in question.
- EXP-applicable art/literature will not be applied if sent in after a redesign is already approved.
- If the EXP claim is not approved first, then you may not submit a redesign claim just yet (there is no particular order in which staff respond to claims, so it's a precautionary measure to avoid potential conflict).
- You may not use a redesign potion to change traits, hairstyles, tattoos (specifically tattoos, not markings), accessories or subspecies.
- Traits: The exception is same-rarity, same-category traits. e.g. if you want to go from Jagged Ears to Arrow Ears (Rare; Ear Types)or from Mermaid Plume to Heart Plume (Special; Plume Types). If you wish to downgrade a trait from a higher to lower rarity, that is acceptable.
- Piercings, jewelry, body mods, scars, tattoos, etc. do not need the use of a redesign potion because they're not natural to the lupinus.
- In case of minor changes, tattoos can be changed, but markings must be similar to original. Marking changes that fundamentally change the design are considered major.
- Subspecies changes will be made available through other means. Information to be added...
- Any changes made to a design cannot be reversed unless using another redesign potion or trait potion.
- Prosethetics / loss of appendages do not need a redesign potion, we don't restrict visible disability representation.
- You can only redesign a lupinus once a year.
- The old version of a design may NOT be used in the ARPG after a redesign is processed and approved.
- You can revert a design once a year as well, but then the inverse will happen where you can't use the redesign.
There are three major parts of redesigning a lupinus:
What you need:
- A redesign potion; can be bought from Warin's Den or crafted in Tier ii Alchemy.
- Have your concepts / finished redesign approved by staff in the #myo-wips-and-help channel.
- Have approval from the OG designer if you are not the designer.
- We need a link to their TOS and a list of their contacts.
- If we cannot get in touch with the OG designer within a month, your submission will be rejected automatically.
- Are you certain you like this redesign? You can't change it for at least one year (exactly 365 days)!
- Are you certain you want this redesign? If you don't care about EXP and stats, we recommend using an MYO and just making a new character instead.
When you go to redesign a lupinus, if you haven't already had all applicable art and literature submitted for EXP, you will lose the opportunity once the design is approved. If you don't care, then that's fine, but if you do care, you will need to submit for EXP BEFORE you submit a redesign claim. Staff does not process claims in any particular order, so as a precaution, wait it out.
To submit EXP, follow the guide here. The process is the exact same as submitting for general EXP and/or for ARPG EXP.
If you'd just like a quick shortened/condensed version then here's Albino's process:
Updating EXP BEFORE submitting a redesign claim
I personally had the issue of my character Monochrome being redesigned (see his old and current images here), but having so much EXP that I never added up. So I started off by logging it. I use an EXP log code on TH that I've edited to suit my needs, but you're more than welcome to make your own use a google doc/spreadsheet, anything that works, really.
So I calculated his EXP in the log, sent in a claim linking to it and specifying where to look, and it was all ready to go.

Once it was approved I linked the claim in my code just for record keeping and then moved on to submitting my redesign.
Submitting a redesign is almost the exact same process as you would for an MYO. See the MYO Guide here.
The only difference is you need to navigate to the "Add-Ons" tab, go down to inventory, select your redesign potion and make sure your quantity is set to 1. If you're also submitting for trait changes, you can do the same process to include trait potions and the amount you want.

In the "Comments" tab, please include:
- Link to the OG designer's TOS (IF you are not the designer)
- Links to contact the OG designer (IF you are not the designer)
- A list of changes made (including the trait changes if needed)
- If trait changes, format it as pictured:

So long as your design was approved in the discord server and you do everything right at this stage, you should be all set! Now you just wait for your redesign.
