What is an ARPG?

ARPG is an acronym for "Art Role Playing Game"
You, the player, must draw, write or otherwise create to participate in the variety of games the species offers. Play by yourself or interact with the community to help build the world you play in! In exchange, you receive in-game currency, items, EXP and even unlock more games as you go.

RULES OF GAMEPLAY

GENERAL ARPG

The General ARPG consists of Activities, Mini-Activities and Monster Hunts. These have set rewards and requirements.

PROMPTS

Prompts are monthly to bimonthly mini-events that have a theme you must depict in your entry.

EVENTS
Events are game events akin to D&D style play that maybe happen 1-3 times a year. Events often alter the world as we know it.

Art Requirements | Literature Requirements

Art and literature requirements are subject to change per prompts and events.

Rules of Submission

  1. Entries must be submitted to their respective prompt pages. (i.e. Mining entries must be submitted to the mining prompt) following the specifications.
  2. Gore-based NSFW is allowed with proper content warnings, sexual-based NSFW is not allowed at all, with or without content warnings.
  3. A breakdown list of the EXP earned (one list per character) must be included in your submission, please reference the EXP Charts linked below.
  1. A single image/literature can only be submitted once per featured lupinus and may not be edited for resubmission in the future. If using physical crafts (i.e. puppets) you must depict them every time you submit them for entry (same as art).
  2. You must have permission to use any lupinus you do not own with the exception of official NPCs. Using a lupinus belonging to another person will grant the owner the rewards and not you. NPCs gain nothing beyond the additional EXP.
  3. Only 3 participating lupi per entry unless there are exceptions which allow for more, such as items or equipment as well as additional factors (i.e. events). Non-participating lupi (i.e. background/”filler” lupi) can be depicted and awarded EXP for the art/literature so long as they meet the requirements, but may not receive any rewards.
  4. Make sure your participating lupini follows the activity prerequisites.
  5. Art can be posted onto Toyhou.se, DeviantArt or through WOS. Literature can be posted onto Toyhou.se, Google Docs or WOS. If it is a mixture of art and literature, we recommend using Toyhou.se or Google Docs.
  6. Have all participating lupi’s pronouns listed in their profile or listed in the entry form, regardless of if you choose to include flavor response or not. If you choose to include flavor response, provide a snippet of personality and demeanor in the lupinus’ profile or entry form as well. If you do not include both, a flavor response will be skipped out on by default and the lupini will have their pronouns defaulted as they/them.
  7. The use of AI for art/literature/other forms of AI will get you banned from the game and species, no exceptions.
  8. You can only unequip items/familiars/mounts used in an unapproved roll submission after one week has passed without you receiving a response. Any sooner than that will result in the equipped items/familiars/mounts being considered null and won't impact your roll.
  9. Use the provided form below when submitting your entry.

HOW TO PLAY

Step 1:
Post your art and/or literature to your chosen site from Rule 8 and find the activity it is relevant to. Make sure your entry and lupi meet all requirements and prerequisites. When done, you can either click “submit” and then “submit prompt”, or “submit prompt” from the World > Prompts page.

Step 2:
Once on the new submission page, please fill out the necessary fields and fill out the form below with your entry’s information.
When you’ve double checked it (see Rule #9), click submit.

Step 3:
Now you must wait.
A roller will get to your entry soon and either reward you or send it back to correct any errors made. Fix any issues if necessary, resubmit and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Step 4:
After that, you might get an NPC request or encounter a secret monster. Response requirements will be listed in the admin comments box when you check your claim. You aren’t required to respond to these, but you can receive additional rewards if you do. If you decide not to do the response, simply respond back with an in-character rejection (a sentence or two by the lupinus works) so that you can get a small reward for your participation. If you do not respond with a rejection, you will gain nothing from it.
 Rejections do not receive EXP.
To respond to NPC requests or secret encounters, file a claim and label at the top of your comment section that it's in response to your claim, linking the claim as well.

Please avoid begging or constantly reminding staff to roll your entry. If it has been a significant amount of time (i.e. 3+ weeks) and there have been no announcements of a hiatus, feel free to ping a roller to remind them in the relevant submissions channel in the Discord Server.

ENTRY FORM

Please fill out one form for every participating lupinus. You can choose to type this all out in a google doc for formatting purposes as well.

Location:

  • Provide the most likely domain if you do not have a specific map location. This affects reward types in some cases.
  • The Lunairean Domains are:
    • Terra Numina
    • Lux Aeterna
    • Cecidit Gloria
    • Solus Aequivalere
    • Amemini

Equipment Benefit(s):

  • Please provide site name of equipment (i.e. Iron Dagger) and what it does next to bullet points / hyphens.

Familiar/Mount Benefit(s):

  • Please provide site name of familiar/mount (i.e. Triplet Star Howlers) and what it does next to bullet points / hyphens.

Additional Benefit(s):

  • Please provide site name of skills/magic/other lupini (i.e. Helping Hand) and what it does next to bullet points / hyphens.

Would you like a flavor response?: Yes/No

  • The below bolded items are only required if you're wanting a flavor response.
    • Lupinus Name(s): This matters more for literature. You can also edit your lupi's profile to include their name, but please include it here as well.
    • Pronouns: If none are provided, they/them will be defaulted to.
    • Personality: Not necessary unless wanting a flavor response. Can be a simple "cold, calm" or "bright and bubbly".
  • This is here just so you can have the option of opting out of a flavor response and simply directly receive your rewards. If you discover any items, your Lupinus will still be credited for the find. Note that if you want the flavor response, we do need a snippet of personality and information such as pronouns included in either the character profile or in your claim. Choosing not to include details like with personality will result in the rolling staff member opting to not include a flavor response, even if you chose "yes".
